Christopher is a senior People, transformation and corporate-services executive with more than 20 years' leadership experience.
His career has included Executive Team responsibility across HR, IT, Marketing & Communications, Governance, Legal Services and Payroll, providing a distinctive whole-organisation perspective on transformation and organisational effectiveness.
His experience spans housing, education, charity and the arts, alongside Board and Non-Executive Director responsibilities.
A Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, Christopher holds a Doctorate in Change Management and MBA in Strategic Management.

Christopher's executive career has extended considerably beyond traditional HR leadership.
At Trident, he held executive accountability for the Marketing & Communications function, leading through a Head of Communications, managers and support staff and overseeing internal and external organisational communications.
His work included strategic communications, corporate messaging, policy and strategy presentation and oversight of digital development.
He also brought together IT, Marketing and external web-development partners during website development, oversaw user acceptance and testing arrangements and reported development stages to the Board.
Successful transformation requires People, Leadership, Communication and Technology to work together.

An idea with roots
The Cedarwoods concept was created by Christopher Derby in 2001 around the idea of “Building your business for the future.”
The name and cedarwoods.co.uk domain were retained while Christopher pursued a long executive career.
More than two decades later, Cedarwoods is being developed as the vehicle through which that accumulated experience can now be offered to organisations through selective interim, consultancy and advisory work.
The original principle remains the same:
help organisations build the capability they need for the future.
